22 things I’ve learnt in 22 years

The important lessons we all forget far too easily! Another brilliant post from one of my favourite blogs.


The path to adulthood is a tough one, twisting and unfamiliar and somehow scarily short but also not as long as you’d like it to be.

In general, I don’t feel like an adult – I’m incapable of getting up without snoozing my alarm at least half a dozen times, I’ve decided against buying clothes I really liked because they would have required ironing, I routinely call my dad from rickety country roads asking for directions.

But at the same time, I catch myself doing strange things. I recycle. I eat vegetables voluntarily; I actually quite like them. I bought a coat and boots in September, rather than putting it off until I got Christmas money and then not bothering anyway because summer’s gonna be here any day now. And the boots are practical and comfortable and proper leather, just like my mum would have picked. Who am I?!
